Neil Down - Answered a Question by Frazer (22 Aug 07 10:27)

Both are unlikely events. Cruise companies and ships' captains take avoiding action well before they are likely to be in trouble from hurricanes, remember that hurricanes start off from the Atlantic coast of Africa as a rule and they are monitored by many of the worlds authorities from the small beginnings until they hit land fall and diminish. Tsunamis are very rare and indeed at sea you might not even know one has past. It is only when the hit land thatthe real swlling effect and possible wave action is noticeable. Don't worry, someone else is doing that for you...Neil and Ida Dow.
