Depending on the exact itinerary ships usually call into Yalta and Odessa which are Russian. If you want to go independantly ashore you will have to apply for your own visa to the Russian Embassy otherwise you will not be allowed ashore as the ships visa only covers you for their organised tours which are usually pretty pricey.
