Yes, Royal Caribbean have a very goods childrens programme as do P&O, I supsect your son would like the Royal Carribean Freedom class ships, check out Independance of the Seas sailing from Southampton next year, brand new, he can go Rock Climbing, Surfing, Roller Skating, Ice Skating as well as the Gym, running, golf etc etc. He wouldnt be bored.
At Royal Caribbean International we offer a very comprehensive youth programme 'Adventure Ocean'.Please see the below taken from our website.
Guests ages (15-17)
Our teen program isn't some structured set of classes or rules. We know you're almost an adult, and it's your vacation too. So we give you the freedom you deserve. You can join events all day, or come and go as you want. And we have two great places where you can get away from it all. The Living Room is a laid-back place you can just hang with your new friends. And Fuel is the place where the party is. Open 'til 2 a.m., you can dance, listen to music, or just hang out there.
Battle of the Sexes
Dancing Under the Stars
Mix and Mingle
Video Game Challenge
Hot Tub Party
Adventure Ocean is included in the price of your cruise and your son could use this as much or as little as he likes.
For time spent together there are some amazing gyms on board in particular our Freedom class ships- Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and coming next year Independence of the Seas which also boast a rock climbing wall 200ft above sea level, basketball courts, FlowRider- our on board surf machine which pumps 30,000 gallons of water a minute!! plus loads more features and amenities
