Absolutely brilliant! Go for it! We did the 2007 Fourth of July round-trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went thru' ROL but there were travellers from other offeers (Bath Travel, for one). Beware the Brooklyn Terminal, which is not nearly so user-friendly as Southampton terminals. There are virtually no passenger-use luggage-trolleys and you are almost forced to use the dockies who are not particularly friendly but avid for large tips. The Immigration (west-bound voyage) takes for ever! On the east-bound voyage the UK Immigration people are on board and it's all done during the voyage. The QM2 is amazing. West-bound we had a Force 11 Storm and she simply cut through it "It's what she was built for" said the Captain reassuringly, and east-bound we had 4 days of solid fog (so the Captain was on the Bridge constantly) which made one realise what Titanic met.

COOPER-ORPE - Answered a Question by Basford (08 Sep 07 16:42)

Yes we have done this trip, last year on the Queen Mary, It was the most wonderful cruise we have experienced, everything, and I mean everything, was fantastic! We were in New York for 4th July 2006. Please go ahead and book, you will NOT regret it, we would do it again without a doubt. QM2 and New York is just magic, watch the New York skyline as you approach, it brings tears to your eyes! We always book with a special Cruise Agent, I would highly recommend them, their e-mail is info@sovereig cruise.co.uk and ask for Stefan, you won't regret it, I promise you. Patricia, Derby .
