There are those who will say differently but buth are acceptable. If you are returning from or flying to the US you will probably have extra luggage allowance, although this is worth checking with the airlines web site, so why not take both ? ...Neil Down
Yes a dinner suit wuill suffic.
Definitely agree. Not everyone wants a dinner jacket so as long as you wear a presentable suit and tie you will be ok.
STANDARDS!!!! Wear a dinner jacket or you will look like a cheap skate!
Dinner suit might be OK but I think you might feel a bit underdressed. I have cruised on the "Queens" but my friends have last January and considered the formal evenings very upmarket on the formal evenings. Hughes, Scotlan.
My daughter and son in law had their honeymoon on QE2 and he isnt so keen on the dressing up part but he wore a normal suit and was quite acceptable too. My husband had a black dinner suit when we cruised on QE2 twice and that was perfectly acceptable. No way are you forced to wear white!
We are going on a P and O cruise next year and I dont have a dinner jacket would it be ok to wear my kilt and jacket instead.
Dinner Suit acceptable. personally I think a White Tuxedo makes guests look like one of the waiters who often wear white jackets on formal evenings. Don't forget your caribbeans shirt or buy one on one of the islands.
As there is usually more than one formal night per cruise why not 'push the boat out' and take a dinner suit and a white tux. You've just spent spent hundreds of pounds to cruise so why not another few to look and feel the part. That's what its all about and you will only feel under-dressed if you sit on a table where the other gentlemen are dressed correctly. Richard @ Lee on the Solent.
Either is acceptable. Have a great time! QM2 is spectacular!.C. Probets Northants, (QM2 convert!).
