We have just returned from a round trip southampton/new york/southampton on qm2. smoking is allowed in part of the golden lion pub, sir samuels, the casino. it is not allowed in dining rooms, theaters, planetariums, spas, lifts. the noxious odour permiates all the areas around where smoking is permitted. it is one of the smokiest ships we have ever been on. i am an exsmoker and being biased, think it should be banned on all ships. even when sitting in the non-smoking area of the golden lion your clothes stink of stale tobacco smoke. if you prefer a smoky ship try costa cruises.

If cruise ships cannot fit decent extractor vents, then smoking should be banned inside.

Smoking should be banned in all public places for health reason.

I have just returned from the QE2 and am a smoker. We had a balcony cabin and ashtrays were provided. However you can smoke in a section of the English pub and also in the Casino. I cannot understand how the other reply said the pub was smokey as the section is well away from the non smoking. If a person does not agree with this then all the other places on ship are non smoking so they have plenty of alternatives.

Smoking is restricted to a few areas, however the smell seems to be everywhere. The worse ship I have been on for this.
