It is cheaper to do your own trips rather than pay for NCL as they are very expensive. My husband and I would usually ask people if they wanted to join us in paying for a minibus or taxi to tour the island. We usually got 8/10 people to join us on the minibus. The driver took us around all of the beauty spots in Antigua which took a whole day and he only charged us $25 each which was excellent. Once you get ashore there is always people mingling and waiting for other people to join them on an excursion.

If you've got the time plan before you go what you want to do and see in each port. Either use the tourism web site for the vaious ports or look at the tours that are available or your or others cruises on the various cruise ship's sites pick out what you want to do then when you get to a port get a taxi (with fellow passengers is preferable and it cuts the cost) and barter to get a good price. Or you can be lazy and just go ashore get a taxi and ask the driver to show you the sites but arrange a cost for a half or a full day....it's that easy....The cheapest way is to walk around and look at the points of interest in the port town...take your pick as language in the Caribbean is not a problem nor is the currency......Ida Dow.
