Here for your delectation is an excerpt from Thomson's web page: Smoking on Board
For the comfort of all passengers, the main restaurants and show lounges are non-smoking throughout. Bars are divided into smoking and non-smoking sections. Smoking in cabins is permitted, but strongly discouraged.
Hope that enlightens you .... Ida
We are cruising to the Caribbean next month. Does anyone know what the smoking rules are know. We were on the Destiny lasy year, (same ship this year) and smoking was allowed in the cabins, in one bar inside and designated areas outside. I know people will not agree but i think we should have been told when we booked if there is now no smoking on board that this rule was coming into affect. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Sha.
I can only suggest that you ring or write to Thomson or search their web site to get the best up to date answer because as I have mentioned this is a rolling topic and there are changes happening all the time. Sorry that's the best I can offer. .... Neil.
Thanks for that Neil. when i rang them they said the smoking policy is as it was on our last holiday. Having read conflicting reports on this i E-mailed them to confirm what they had told me over the telephone and they said they had made a mistake and smoking is only allowed in a couple of designated areas outside. hey said not all of there reps are up to date with the current policy on smoking. Saying as how we booked our Cruise 17 months ago you would have thought they would have had the decency to inform there customers of it instead of waiting until our tickets arrive and finding out in the booklet they sent with them. Am in the middle of an on going argument with them that they had a right to inform there customers but i don't think i will get any joy. I certainly won't be booking with them again though.
Four of us have spent over £10.000.00 with them on cruises in the last 26 months, and £3000.00 on a holiday to Egypt last march. I will let you know what happens if anything. Shar.
Think you will find all Thomson ships do not allow smoking in cabins no.
Type your answer here...i e-mailed Thomson to ask which was correct,,they said brochure,it says no-smoking in any indoor areas of ship, cabins + bars etc.+ small section of outside deck. They say not yet updated web site(it has been out of date for 18 months).pity poor smokers who book on website + read their smoking policy then get to ship + find its almost totally no smoking.
